Anemone blanda 'Blue Star'

Station 6 - Heather Bank and Croquet Lawn Border

This diminutive springtime bloomer is welcome addition. While it appears delicate, this tuberous plants is quite tough. In the garden we get almost two months of flowers, if the spring proves to be cool. The blue form has seeded in (nicely, not thuggishly) and coexists with perennials that emerge later. The foliage will die down, come late spring. Do not cut off the dying foliage, as this is how the plant makes energy for the coming year.
