Jana Robbins
Horticulturist
Jana has been a Seattleite for 25 years, but spent her childhood in nearby Snohomish where she fondly remembers lots of outside playtime in nature (minus the slugs). Jana has been a volunteer Forest Steward for Green Seattle Partnership since 2013, caretaking a small natural area called Peppi’s Woods in the Central District, where she lives with her family. After raising two kids and working in Education, primarily teaching preschool, Jana returned to school at Edmonds College and graduated with a horticulture degree in Sustainable Landscape Management. She finds a lot of joy in caretaking natural areas, public spaces and parks that encourage the public’s connection with nature, especially young children. She also has a love for highlighting native plants and sustainable landscaping to preserve the health of local ecosystems. Jana enjoys time with family and friends; walking Seattle’s parks, kayaking in Lake Washington, and watching Storm, Torrent and Mariner games.
