VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The gardens grow and thrive with the help of many hands. Volunteers generously contributed more than 1,000 hours last year working in the gardens, at events, giving tours, and helping out in the office. Our staff of five greatly appreciate the time, energy, and commitment of this dedicated group.

VOLUNTEER: General Maintenance

• With maintaining a 7.5 acre garden there is always maintenance needed. We need someone with a wide variety of skills from repairing electrical issues to carpentry work.
• Previous experience with basic maintenance tasks desired

VOLUNTEER: Irrigation Repairs

• Help trouble shoot and repair irrigation sprinkler issues
• Yearly maintenance checks on the valve boxes
• Previous experience with basic maintenance tasks desired

VOLUNTEER: Garden Beatification Team

• Our horticultural staff could use extra help with various gardening tasks during the week. We have weekly groups that volunteer on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If these days do not work for you, just contact us and let us know what timing works for you.
• Previous experience with basic maintenance tasks desired

VOLUNTEER: Events

• Help Dunn Gardens staff during events such as Winter Solstice, Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee and more! Staff could always use an extra hand with setup, breakdown, and during the events as well.

TIME COMMITMENT:

• Hours are negotiable and will be determined with supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Complete a volunteer application and interview.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Must be a Dunn Gardens member

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Previous experience with basic maintenance tasks desired for general maintenance, irrigation repairs, and the GBT.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
• Must be flexible and reliable
