Directions to Dunn Gardens

Please note: Street parking only.

Dunn Gardens is located in Broadview, a residential neighborhood of Northwest Seattle.
Enter the Northshire Rd NW loop via NW 137th Ave.

Please park along the outer-loop or west side of Northshire Rd NW.
Parking on both sides can block emergency vehicles. Do not block driveways.

From your parking spot, walk to the white entrance gates and follow the signs to Dunn Gardens & Check-in. Check in at the kiosk across from the Trust office, then enjoy your visit in to the Gardens.

Parking & ADA Accessibility

There are two ADA Handicapped parking spots within the Gardens, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Look for the ADA sign to the left (south) of Ed's Cottage. Vehicles must park directly behind one another. 

Trails & Garden Navigation

The terrain at Dunn Gardens encompasses a wide variety - from flat concrete patios to rustic dirt trails.  Many of our trails and paths are accessible to wheelchair users or those with limited mobility, but some are not.  "Mountain bike" wheelchair wheels are ideal on woodchip paths.

All-Terrain Wheelchair

The GRIT Freedom Chair is specially designed for outdoor terrain and easily handles gravel, lawns, wood chips, and nearly all paths throughout the Gardens. The only exception is the Ravine Trail, which remains too steep for safe access.

Availability:

  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm during office hours
  • During all public events at the Gardens

To reserve the chair in advance, please:

  • Email info@dunngardens.org or call the office at 206-362-0933
  • Include your name, date & time of your visit, a phone number or email for confirmation

If the chair is available, we’ll have it ready when you arrive.

Restrooms & AED

There are two single-occupant, unisex bathrooms available to patrons.  They are both equipped with handrails.  The bathroom directly across from the AED is sufficiently large to accommodate a wheelchair.

There is an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) mounted outside across from the bathrooms.  It located  in a clearly-labeled, standardized container.  Staff are trained in its use.

Handicapped accessible restroom

Children & Pets

Children are always welcome at Dunn Gardens.  We ask patrons to ensure fragile garden spaces are respected.

There is a playground located near the Kubota Garden.  Additionally - we have it on good authority that the Great Lawn is a wonderful place to get some wiggles out.

Service animals are welcome at the gardens.  However, we ask that personal pets stay home.
