Connor Hood
Board President
Originally from Bellevue WA, Connor moved to Seattle after attending Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, where he studied Economics and Math. After a decade in Seattle’s tech sector as a Software Engineer, he switched careers and is now a Firefighter with Eastside Fire & Rescue in King County.
Connor is an avid home gardener who enjoys designing & implementing permaculture systems in his yard in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood. He is particularly interested in the challenges and opportunities afforded by our native biome, and how to create robust small-scale ecosystems.
Outside of gardening, Connor is a devoted musician and runner. He’s also the proud father of a little girl who enjoys exploring the gardens with him and searching for fairies.
Connor joined the board in the summer of 2023. He plans to draw on past experiences in event planning and organizational advisory to help vitalize Dunn Gardens’ event calendar & membership experience. He’s passionate about introducing Dunn Gardens to a new generation of guests and laying the groundwork for the next 100 years.
